What is this place?
SurfTheChannel is a video search engine. We index links to videos all over the web and attempt to list them neatly in our pages. We do this through a combination of automation and user submissions. Members are are also able to manage their profiles, create or join groups, add links to favorites and rate links.
Can I request that you add a link to a video please?
No but you can add it yourself! Just join up and choose to add a link to the site.
I found a bug/a video doesn't work properly/a page doesn't load/something funky is going on!
Once you click the play button you leave SurfTheChannel and go to the site where the video is hosted. We have no control over anything on 3rd party sites. If you are having problems watching a video on another site then there is no point in complaining to us!
RSS? What is it? How do I use it? Is it sexy?
RSS is just a different way of
reading a websites content. This
content gets sent out in an RSS
"feed" which you can receive and read
using an RSS reader.
More recently you can read feeds
using both the FireFox, Internet
Explorer 7 and Opera browsers so you
don't need a reader. Whenever you see this
icon you can view an RSS feed.
What has this got to do with STC?
Well we have a dedicated RSS feed for
each of our channels which means if
you bookmark the feed you will be
alerted when any new links are
posted. Better still if you bookmark
our
latest videos feed you will see
each and every episode we add to the
site as it is added!
I like it. Can I make a donation to you?
That is very kind of you but SurfTheChannel does not accept donations of any sort. We operate using a sustainable advertising model and as such do not need any monetary help from our users. Instead of donating to SurfTheChannel why not make a donation to Cancer Research UK as they are a very worthwhile charity. We must stress however that we are in no way affiliated with Cancer Reseach UK, we just think they do good work and need the cash.
Where do you get summary information from for videos?
TVRage.com a fantastic very informative site, why not pay them a visit?
I want to advertise on SurfTheChannel.
