Kid Nation  

Kid Nation is a reality series in which 40 kids have 40 days to build a new world from a ghost town that died out during the 19th century. In Bonanza City, New Mexico, these 40 children, ages 8-15, will live for 40 days without their parents or modern technology in an attempt to build a city like generations before them -- by hand. While there, the children will have to cook, clean, haul water, and even run businesses. A government will be constructed that elects four kid leaders who will pass laws for their Kid Nation. During their time away, they'll learn how to cope with typical childhood emotions -- homesickness, pure pressure, etc. -- as well as those facing a new town. At the end of each episode, the town of 40 will gather for a town meeting where they will debate the important issues facing Bonanza City as they build the town. In doing so, these kids will show strength and wisdom beyond their years and humor and insight that only children can display.
