Canterbury's Law is a courtroom drama about a rebellious defense attorney, Elizabeth Canterbury (Julianna Margulies) who bends the law in order to protect the innocent falsely accused of crimes. Elizabeth is a hot-shot attorney on the rise, and often takes on risky, unpopular cases in order to advance her career. Elizabeth and her husband Matthew (Aidan Quinn) carry the burden of their young son's mysterious disappearance and moved to Providence, Rhode Island in order to get away from the tragedy as an attempt to start fresh and put their relationship back together. But that proves hard to do when the cases Elizabeth takes on provide a constant reminder of the justice they never received in their own lives.
