First Telecast: November 17, 2001 Last Telecast: May 13, 2006 Episodes: Color Episodes (93 half-hour episodes, 25 two-parters, 3 three-parters) Production: Warner Bros Entertainment Distributors: Cartoon Network Justice League Unlimited: Originally, the seven most powerful superheroes, the team recruited 30+ members into their team. On screen however, they where just known as The Justice League. The Show: The series Justice League premiered in 2001, while other DCAU shows such as The Zeta Project and Static Shock had been still airing. The series started off with "Secret Origins" which was a three part TV movie. It was produced by the same minds behind Batman The Animated Series, Superman, Batman Gotham Knights, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, and The Zeta Project. Season one settled the origin of the team. In the first episode, Batman and Superman banded together to stop an alien invasion. After freeing the last surviving Martian, and escaping from the aliens, they met four other superheroes – Hawkgirl, the Green Lantern, the Flash and Wonder Woman. After they took down the aliens, Superman decided that they should all stay as a force for good. This season didn't feature deep character development, unlike future seasons. Season two had the Justice League going head to head with bigger and bolder threats. In one episode, the League traveled to an alternate reality where they fought their evil counterparts. It also had a great season finale which featured a Thanagarian invasion. Due to the events of this finale, Hawkgirl was compelled to quit the League. Season three was renamed Justice League Unlimited. The Justice League now had a new Watchtower, new Javelins, and a new roster. The original plan for the third and subsequent seasons was to have one core member leading a team of two or three new members on a mission. Season four brought the conclusion of the Cadmus arc that brew in the former seasons. The season ended with a revelation that would change Terry McGinnis and Bruce's relationship forever. This season was meant to be the final one, but Cartoon Network called for a whole other season. In season five, the Justice League had to face Gorilla Grodd's new Secret Society (also known as The Legion of Doom off screen.) Almost every villain the League ever faced was in this Society. At one point, Lex Luthor takes over control of the organization and uses its resources to try to free Brainiac, so that he can have ultimate knowledge again. This season is going to be the last season as the network decided to not renew the series for a sixth season. JL Opening Theme JLU Opening Theme
