South African Airways Boeing 747 - South African Airways flight 295 On November, 1987 a fire started in the rear cargo area of a Boeing 747 Combi bound for South Africa. The pilots start dealing with the emergency but then the plane plunges to the Indian Ocean, to the east of Mauritius killing 159 people. The source of ignition is unknown even today.
