While on a joyride, Brooklyn is attacks by a band of mortars. He thwarts them with the help of a shadowy gargoyle, who turns out to be... Demona. She manages to gain his trust long enough to show him the ugly side of humankind. She then convinces him to steal the Grimorum Arcanorum so that she can use a spell on Goliath in order to make him see the 'truth'. However, Demona's plan is not quite as she describes it...
